A Costly Lesson to the College Loyalists.

Dr.T.Chinnaraj Joseph,former Principal and Secretary and Late.Rt.Rev.A.Christopher Asir Chairman and Bishop of Madurai-Ramnad diocese were close friends for some time.The rivals of Late.Bishop did not like their friendship and waited for an opportunity to break their relations.When there was a difference of opinion between the friends,the rivals successfully blowed it up into a larger issue and paved way for this struggle.

Though Dr.Chinnaraj and co is legally strong,one of the main reason for getting delay in justice is due to the misguidance.The rival group of Late.Bishop has now joined hands with Dr.Davamani son-in-law of Late.Bishop.It is actually a very happy news because they are the main reason for creating chaos in college.They misguided Dr.T.Chinnaraj and co to a great extent.

The rival group thought this struggle,as a great chance to revenge Late.Bishop for their personal vengeance but Dr.Chinnaraj and co did not give any place to show their personal vengeance rather they mainly focused on the welfare of the college.When the rivals came to know that they could not overpower Dr.Chinnaraj and co,they joined hands with Dr.Davamani.

Dr.T.Chinnaraj and co had a habit of repeating same mistakes.They trust people who are untrustworthy and often get deceived.They do not take the advice of trustworthy people.Dr.Chinnaraj has so much concern on Students,so he does not want to involve them in strike but some Faculty from his side encouraged students to participate in the struggle but some students willingly participated in the struggle.

Students from English Department participated willingly in the struggle and they never sided with any of the Students Organization.They sensed the misguidance and was repeatedly warning Dr.Chinnaraj and co.They revealed many Confidential Plans of Late.Bishop and the rival groups to some of the Senior Faculty from Dr.Chinnaraj and co,in a hope that the message will reach Dr.Chinnaraj but whenever they were informed they say that nothing can shake us and after the incident happens and when we approach them,They say that we expected this and we are ready to face anything.

Carelessness is another important cause for the delay.Many violent incidents could have been avoided and Justice could have been got at this time,if the Faculty from Dr.Chinnaraj and co acted intellectually and heard the advice of trustworthy people.Still,there seems to be no change in the attitude of Dr.Chinnaraj and co.We fight only for the welfare of the college,so we digest the foolish behavior of Dr.Chinnaraj and co but we feel pity and laugh at them.

One thing is sure,we are close to our victory because the stumbling blocks are gone from our group and the rivals will surely misguide and create chaos in the enemy camp.Our earnest advice is,age is not a factor in a struggle.There are many people who were silently fighting for the welfare of the college.Take their advice and information's into consideration and think seriously about it. It is enough to be deceived,Please correct the past mistakes.Do not underestimate the enemy.Only God can make us win.

On The Death of Rt.Rev.Dr.A.Christopher Asir,Bishop of Madurai-Ramnad Diocese.

We really felt for this man whose death is celebrated in and around the city. If a man's death is celebrated it is clear that he has lost his human nature. Nobody to mourn for him in the true sense we observed two groups of people one happy and relieved because of his death, the next were afraid about the future since they lived in the shadows of the aura created by the bishop.

Certainly no one felt even his wife or children. His sons were busy in publishing their names in the condolence posters in the city which addressed Rt. Rev.Dr.A.Christopher Asir as the father of Joel and Jeba. Who were Joel and Jeba without Asir in the last 9 years? What we sensed was his family was the whole responsible agency for his downfall. His wife, daughter,son in law, and the sons were the architects of all the chaos the Bishop created.

We strongly feel that since the bishop was in office during his death he had his last ceremonies done or else he would not have had a funeral ceremony. Even his own family members would have thrown him out after his Bishop's tenure is over.

His funeral was not like a funeral of a Bishop in office but was like the funeral of a dada or local rowdy. It was evident because of the acts of the hooligans who were drunk marching before his corpse from the church to the grave yard (these guys are the henchmen of Joel who involved in American college riots on March 14, 2011).

This man who is surely corrupted by the family made his last journey ignorant of the celebration in the city. Yes, of course we felt for this man Asir who lost his witness and humanness because of absolute power and the corrupt family.

Naked Self-Interest of Bishop.Rt.Rev.A.Christopher Asir (CSI,Madurai-Ramnad Diocese) Exposed.

Bishop.Rt.Rev.A.Christopher Asir finally made his Son-in-law Dr.M.Davamani Christopher as the Principal of the college overruling the eligibility of many.

Bishop.Rt.Rev.A.Christopher Asir on 29-10-2011 formed a Principal section committee which consisted three persons who where very close to Bishop.The Principal Interview was attended by 8 persons and many of them had the eligibility to become the Principal.

The American College Governing Council case was in the court,So it cannot be convened but Bishop.Rt.Rev.A.Christopher Asir formed a new Governing Council. The members of the council are Bishop’s supporters and the council issued approval to Bishop’s Son-in-law Dr.M.Davamani Christopher.

Now you may have understood why this trouble in the college.The Bishop and co was spreading lies that they are fighting to save the college but now it is very well exposed that Bishop in order to control the college and appoint his family members in management involved in the disturbance of peace in the college.

It is a open truth that Bishop.Rt.Rev.A.Christopher Asir appointed his family members in the management of various diocese institution not in order to develop but to earn for his family.Most of the Diocese institution which was started for Service,now turned into a commercial institution.

If you still convinced by the lies of Bishop and extend your support to him.It is sure that you are a threat to the society and you should be ashamed of yourself for being a part in destroying a prestigious institution and the history will remember you as a destroyer of the Human Well-Being.

History of The American College,Madurai.

The American College is one of the institutions in higher education known for its focus on academic excellence and social relevance. Its pioneering role in the development of college autonomy in India, its successful beginning of a Choice Based Credit System, it’s five star ranking by the National Assessment and Accreditation council, and its completion of 130 years of service to higher education bear testimony to the position that the college currently enjoys. With plans in progress for a satellite campus, the college is moving forward in its quest for excellence.


The present strength of the college is derived mainly from the foresight of educators who came to South Asia from the American Congregational Church almost 200 years ago. Beginning their work first in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, they later extended their efforts to start schools in South India. In 1842, they established a school at Tirumangalam and then moved it to Pasumalai.It is the school that later grew to be the American college in 1881.


By 1909 the college was shifted to its present location in Goripalayam and a large administrative building, including a hall and class rooms were dedicated. In four more years additional buildings and extended grounds gave the college an expansive campus and recognition with first grade status.


The American college was originally directed by the Madura Mission of the American congregational church. It became independent of the mission in 1934.Since that time it has been under the direction of its own Governing Council, registered under the Societies registration act of 1860..The college was affiliated to the Madras University till 1965-1966 when it came under the jurisdiction of the Madurai Kamaraj University.


The college grew steadily in the second half of the 20th century.PG departments were established in rapid succession in discipline such as Zoology,Chemistry,Physics,English,Tamil,Botany,Economics,Commerce,Mathematics,Computer Application, Business Administration and Social Work. All those except the last four have been recognized as Research Centre leading to the Ph.D.degree.


The Faculty and Administration developed one of the earliest plans for academic anatomy. In 1978,the college become one of the first eight colleges in India to be granted autonomous status that it continues to enjoy.


The Department of Applied Science with a computer centre in Madurai was opened in 1978 and it is in collaboration with the Educational Service(India) of Madras, has been offering a diploma course in Computer Skills called “Jivana Jyoti”,for the physically challenged students since 1990.


In 1985 the college started a Study Centre for Indian Literature in English and Translation (SCILET).This research centre with its well-equipped library and online catalogue, serves the college faculty and students, and scholars from many states all over India.


Since 1988, the college has been recognized as a study centre for the Indira Gandhi National Open University. In 2002-2003, the college introduced the flexible Choice Based Credit System, a paradigm shift that helps students to make responsible choices in the learning process.

The college has active theatre groups, Social Service Scheme and N.C.C Units that offer students a wide variety of opportunities to serve society. These activities add up to make the campus a vibrant space for developing one’s personality.

Violent Activities Inside Campus

The Self-Claimed Principal of The American College Mr.Davamani Christober who is the Son-In-Law of Late.Rt.Rev.A.Christopher Asir,Bishop of CSI Madurai-Ramnad Diocese instigated rowdies and students who were turned rowdies by him to observe a eating fast and pelt stones on Professors and Students who were conducting a silent non-violent fast inside the campus against the illegal occupation of Administration by Mr.Davamani.The rowdies of Mr.Davamani destroyed the vehicles and went inside the home of Professors who raised their voice against the illegality of Mr.Davamani.

Purified or Consumed

“Purificatus Non Consumptus” (Motto of The American College,India).

‘Purified but not consumed” is the motto of the college.Every student of the college in addition to academic activity,is purified in moral values and they leave the college capable of facing life.

From April 13^th 2008 until this minute the situation of the college is opposite to the above mentioned paragraph.

Rt.Rev.A.Christopher Asir Bishop of Madurai-Ramnad diocese and Chairman of the college Governing Council (Whose position is only to preside over the function) is trying to bring the college under the Church illegally.Which was against the by-laws of the college.

Dr.T.Chinnaraj Joseph Jaikumar (former Principal and Secretary of the college) fighting a legal battle to keep the college under an independent Governing Council of the College which was followed since the founding of the college.The by-laws of college clearly states that the college should act under the Governing Council and it is independent of the Church.The Teaching Staffs,Non-Teaching Staffs and Students were divided due to the clash between the Church vs College.

From April 13^th 2008 until this minute the college motto has been reversed.The Present motto of the college is “Consumed but not Purified”.The students of the college is now consumed by Violence,Drugs,Alcoholic,Drinks,Bribes,Forgeries,Bad Words,Selfishness,Cheating,Caste etc.

The true color of the Faculty is exposed.Everyone who is related to the college wish that the Teaching Staffs from both sides to repent from their immoral values and get purified.The Teaching Staffs of the college were asked to show students the right path,not the opposite of it which they are showing at present.
